Week 4 Links: PF Buzz Edition
Good morning, class! I just want to remind everyone to make sure and head over to PF Buzz, the (relatively) new social bookmarking site where you can see the cream of the crop in personal finance posts. Sign up for an account and submit your favorite posts and see what others interested in PF think. I really can’t say enough for the value of this site if we work together to increase the use. It needs more submissions and more activity to really reach it’s potential. Let’s see what we can do!
Enough of the plug, let’s see what’s in the Reader this week:
- Ever wished you didn’t get the paper phone books that you never use? If you’re like me, you have. Wise Bread shows you how to opt out of these wasteful products.
- Wow! This guy’s busy! J.D. takes multi-tasking to a new level and shows that it really doesn’t increase your productivity. (BTW, I submitted this article to PF Buzz here. Go vote on it!
- Nickel tells us how to avoid getting ripped off by an auto mechanic–find the right one!
- All Financial Matters tells us what’s better than a raise. (Also at PF Buzz!)
- AFM hits another home run with a post on the definitions of “fair” and “rich.” Its election season so these terms are being tossed around a bunch. What, my friends, do they mean?
- Gen X brings out the truth about last weeks “news” that most corporations don’t pay taxes. Gotta love the envy the media likes to spread. Yet Again at PF Buzz!
- With one on the way, I’m definitely interested in this post on teaching your children about money, from Nickel via Get Rich Slowly.
- What will it be, retirement savings or paying down debt? Why not a little bit of both? Find the answer at Moolanomy.
- Stop worrying about your finances! Money Ning tells you why it’s pointless and what you should do instead.
I hope these are enlightening. Did I mention that you should head over to PF Buzz? It this great new site…
Have a great weekend!
